So my LED ring light finally arrived from F&V (was the longest 6 days of my life )

As soon as it arrived I organised to do a shoot with the ever so beautiful Kylene to test this puppy out – the results speak for themselves

When constantly faced with adversity we often tend to withdraw – is it not time to rather hit the road running and show the world what we are made of – let them see our sexy side, entice them, show them who we really are.Thank you Kylene for helping me out with this

In today’s society there is a false conception that these things make you beautiful whereas it is the complete opposite that is true. Open yourself up, be a bit more vulnerable, and let people see who you truly are – this is where true beauty lays

Miss South Africa 2012…a little bit of what happens behind the scenes

So I had the honour of going out to Sun City this past weekend to shoot the happenings of Miss South Africa 2012. Our team arrived at 8am on Saturday and went straight into 2 and a half days of madness. Excitement all around, running up and down getting shots as the girls did their rehearsals, and make up, etc. and let me tell you…those girls can move! Bare time to breathe between wardrobe changes.

And let’s not forget the amazing makeup and hair teams (hair led by none other than Carl Isaacs….the man is a MACHINE!!!!) if anyone knows how to work under pressure it’s these people…wow!

The girls looked amazing at any given moment, but nothing compared to their stunning evening wear by Gideon – absolutely exquisite!!!

Here is a little taste of the happenings behind the scenes, from makeup, to rehearsals, to the girl’s parents coming to see them just before the show, to Top Billing filming and of course…the big night!

Congrats to all the girls on an outstanding show and a big congrats to our new Miss SA, Marilyn Ramos

UCI MTB World Cup – Downhill

Iv recently developed a fascination for extreme mountain biking and have started cycling myself – so when the opportunity arose to head off to the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup at Cascades MTB Park in Pietermaritzburg I jumped at the chance. What an epic few days of exhilarating riding (not by myself – I still think these boys and girls are a slightly different shade of crazy).

One thing they forget to mention when you go to shoot Downhill MTB races, is the insane amount of running up and down a mountain to get to the different spots – fitness levels were put to the test! But the results from all this running were well worth it. Capturing these downhill riders careening down this mountain at speeds of up to (and over) 60km/h, dodging rocks, trees, and doing the most insane gaps and jumps – I fell in love with this sport INSTANTLY!

I followed the downhill racers from their practise runs through to qualifying and on Sunday 18th, their final run in which Greg Minnaar, our very own boy from SA, completely ANNIHILATED the competition.

We can accept these problems and just live with them or we can choose to do something about it – and the only way to do something about it is to change our attitude. There is no new concept shown here, just a visual interpretation of a time old classic. Hear No Evil – See No Evil – Speak No Evil.
